Forum : Admission dilemna

Hi -

We are currently in the US and my company is planing to place me in Bangalore. I am planing to relocate to bangalore next year around April 2010. My son currently goes to a public school in KG. He's 5 and half years old.

My questions are the following  –

1.   For an admision of June 2010 do i have to briefly come to india around Jan 2010 to secure an admission in a school  or can that be done over phone ?

2.   Since we will not be completing the academic year in the US school (in the US the school closes in June) , would my son lose a year when we try in bangalore ?

3.   The other thing that is worrying me is that my son is august born and i have heard that in some schools in India the cutoff is June. Please let me know if this is true and are thier any exceptions ? When he jons a school in India in June 2010, would he have to join the 1st grade again ?
