    Hi,

We’ve applied for Nursery admission for our child for June’11 session.

Today we came to know that he is selected and we’ve to pay the fees during 11-18th Feb’12.

Before paying the fees I would like to ask certain things in the forum:

    - Is it worthy school for Nursery? as this is the standard where actually the formation of child is laid.

    - Should we try to explore certain other options?

    - What are the pros and cons of joining in Baldwin?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best Regards,

    Dear ma’am,
I am a Baldwinian and i have read ur review about lack of extra-curricular activities i agree that our school itself organizes few events but i contradict to what u say…if your son is really interested in taking part in events and school fests tell him to talk to teachers or supervisors about the upcoming events and participation in them

When i joined Baldwin in 2008 i was very shy only last year did i gain courage to speak to teachers and take part in various school fests. Everything on this Earth has it’s imperfections and so does Baldwin Boy’s but it does not mean that we should ignore the better things of life.

    DEAR SIR / MADAM,

MY SON IS STUDYING IN YOUR SCHOOL ( MIDDLE SCHOOL ) I WOULD LIKE TO SAT A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE SCHOOL. IN THE PAST THE STANDARD OF EDUCTION WAS GOOD & NOW A DAYS ITS VERY POOR. THE TEACHERS ARE NOT STRICT WITH THE STUDENTS ( NOT CHECKING THEIR BOOKS FOR THEIR UPTO DATE NOTES ETC.,) IF THIS IS THE STATE IT’S GOING TO SPOIL THE NAME OF THE SCHOOL. KINDLY TREATE THIS MESSAGE ON MOST PRIORITY & ENSURE TO MAINTAIN THE LEVEL OF EDUCATION AT HIGHER LEVEL ALWAYS, AS THE PAST RECORDS ARE TOO GOOD. ELSE ALL THE PARENTS WOULD CERTAINLY LOOK FOR A BETTER SCHOOL.

My son is going to Baldwin In Ist. He is going to Baldwin from last 3yrs from nursery.I think this is one of the best schools but I’ m fully agreed with Simmi that they have to improve the involvement of small kinds in extra curricular activities. They have many activities in school but they dont involve all the students in all activities they are following the same old method of pick the best and he will perform automatically in all activities. Even some times parents are not aware of the activities going on in the school. So if they will involve us we will also feel happy to see our little angels performing.

My other concern is the strength of the class. I always feel pity for the teacher how she will manage to teach 40-45 students and make them learn.

One more concern is the bus service. for junior bell time is 2.15 and for senior it is 3.00. so buses start from school by 3.10- 3.15. so the junior students have to wait for one hr in the school and in that time they dont sit in the class they sit in the buses. because of this extra time the scho0l time for them is very long like 7.30 in morning to 4 in evening is a long time for kids of 1st class . the child is fully drained out and not able to do anything else. If there is not any other substitute they can atleast start some hobby classes of kids for that extra hour so that we have peace of mind that they are not roaming here and there in the school and atleast learning something.

My son is studying in this school from nursery. So far, it’s going well. every year they are improving. Only drawback is extracurricular activities. Except sports day there is no other competitions. CCa could be done more better. Anual day shoud be celebrated where all students can participate. (in prize day only prize winners and their parents can attend). Otherwise education is good. Canteen can be improved.

iwanted to write abt the Baldwin boys school long back as my son had joined in academic year 2010-11 but i wanted to take some time to give a good review to the newcomers or who r willing to get their wards admitted to Baldwin’s. what i hv seen the whole year overall school is very good Academically but in this era where all round develpoment is very important it is lacking somewhere in extracurricular .In the whole session there held only one function and tht was sports day no other function or festivals are celebrated in the school premises not even the chrismas party..so i suggest to the school authorities to develop interest in the celebrations of all the important festivals so that children will get some knowledge abt their heritage and start loving their National festivals and come to know abt their importance.Principal of the school is a real gentleman understand the students and parents problem .occasionally whenever i hv gone to school pick my son i hv seen him taking school rounds and always carries smile on his face.Abt class teacher Mrs Anita raj she’s very knowledgable, competitive but she is also having lots of burden on her shoulder becz of high class strenghths 45-50 students in each sessions and thats quite high..Transportation is not available in everywhere across bangalore so make sure transportation shd be available before getting admission in the school.. otherwise all of ur hardwork is futile if u r forced to send the kids by Private vans which are plenty for Baldwin but not comfortable and moreover it take between 1-2 sometime more hours after school closes.so in short school is good if it is nearby to ur residence and transportation is available but certain changes r req to bring it to at par to beat the others in the races where all r trying to be the best one

    Simmi,

I agree with you about overall development. However, schools should focus on Physics, Math, and Engineering. The key is to get students to focus on education. Developing programs that help kids to become active in Physics and Engineering at a young age will get them to leap forward and be innovative in the future. Sports is required but if you have plans to build an Enterprenuier, you really have to get them to think innovative.

There are a few great points that you mention. I would have to review those points if I were to send my child to Baldwins.

My son joined Baldwins for LKG in 2009. He has picked up a lot after joining the school. The only thats concerning me is large number of students in the class. They have atleast 45 students in each class.

But the teachers are very capable and are able to handle the children. I am very happy with Baldwins.
