Lying within 2 kilometers of the ITPL, The Deens Academy is situated on 3 acres of land. The campus of ‘brick- finished’ buildings, resplendent with courtyards and water bodies blend with the lush green surroundings replete with fruit trees and flowering plants - in itself a lesson on conservation of the environment. The following facilities are provided in the campus: - The academic building Classrooms are equipped with multimedia intranet computers and interactive educational software. All classrooms boast interactive ’smart boards’ making learning exciting! The academic building also houses a dance room with ergonostic flooring, a state-of-art junior laboratory and art and craft rooms - Smart Board - ‘SMART’ APPROACH TO LEARNING The Deen’s Academy is the first school in Bangalore to invest in the effective teaching of its children by installing ’smart boards’ in every classroom. Interactive whiteboards or ’smart boards’ are phenomenal tools which provide ways to show students any thing which can be presented on a computer’s desktop. In addition, interactive whiteboards allow teachers to record their instruction and post the material for review by students at a later time. This can be a very effective instructional strategy for students who benefit from repetition, who need to see the material presented again, for students who are absent from school, for struggling learners, and for review for examinations. Impacts of interactive whiteboards on pedagogy: * Increased enjoyment and motivation * Greater opportunities for participation and collaboration * Improved personal and social skills * Less need for note-taking * Ability to cope with more complex concepts * Accommodation for different learning styles * Increased self-confidence - Laboratories Language and maths labs to facilitate easy comprehension and problem solving .Fully equipped science and social science labs for inquiry based hands-on learning. Computer labs for that extra edge in this techno-savvy world! - Swimming pool A 4 lane pool with adequate changing and locker room provision installed with filtration equipment which will ensure international health standards in water cleanliness. Attached is a baby pool so that the younger members of the Deens family don’t miss out on splashing around! - The Pantry (Refectory) The out sourced facility and dining area will serve the entire school staff and students. A child-friendly nutritious menu cooked under vigilant hygienic conditions is coordinated by a parent body constituted by the school management. Supervised meal time ensures elegant table etiquette! - Outdoor Sports Facility Basketball and tennis courts and a fully protected skating rink have been provided between the buildings. This apart, the school boasts a large playground which will serve as football and cricket field along with tracks for athletics. Indoors, children are guided into chess and caroms! - The Library (The Book Nook) The Book-Nook is our gateway to the world books and information- books, magazines, encyclopedias, audio-visual aids and internet facility contained within the calm ambience and spacious seating/ reading arrangements of the school’s library. - Infirmary A medically equipped infirmary manned by a full time nurse and an on-call doctor caters to any health related emergencies - Transportation Efficient and well-organised transport system is complemented by its wellchalked out bus routes and trained matrons on board. The buses are also speed limiter enabled through a GPS to ensure the safety of the children on board.

1Hi Mrs Narasimhan,
I would like to know how you are sending your kids to Deens? Do u send them by school bus/private school van/ or do you drop them at school? I am moving to Whitefield, and have got admission for my son in Deens, but the place where we are going to live, Deens does not want to send the bus. Nearest bus-stop for me would be 500 meters away. Which part of Whitefield are you living in? Do you have suggestions for private school van pick-up/drop facility?

2Deens conducted one of the best Sports days that you come across in a school which only few years old. The sports team, their arts& crafts team and the rest of the faculty pitched in for the props.. they were all excellent ! the day was split into two days, so it reduced the fatigue.. the two days were fun filled days with children enjoying the competition ! they had made good arrangement, the teachers were there early in the morning to welcome the parents and seat them comfortable, had arrangements for vendors to put up stalls for lunch… overall it was time worth spent !! happy our kid is growing up with Deens !!

3I have been to the school and was not impressed with the infrastructure. There is a muddy ground, half the size of a regular football/hockey ground. There is no auditorium or multi purpose hall and the so-called ’skating rink’ is a shame compared to international standards… There is a huge music / dance room at the basement, which is mostly under-utilised with few equipments. On a rainy day, the car park for parents is slushy, hence the narrow road is full of cars. Also, I wish to have a feedback on any religious bias in the school, for ex, in the prayer, in the celeberation of different Hindu festivals, in the teaching of yoga and meditation, etc.
The classrooms are all equipped with PC’s and projectors, but pray, why are they charging a bomb for delivering the curriculum through this means? Customised and CBSE specific academic content is available on the Web at a cost of less than Rs 150 per student per month.

4My suggestion would be Deens Academy as both my children(UKG and 5th Grader) are doing so well and I could able to see the happiness in them and they keep saying their schools is the best school in the world.
Academically is also the standard is high and I can see the difference. My first child’s confidence level has gone vry high and she is encouraged so well in all aspects . For my first child , this is the third school and I’m very clear that both of them will be with Deens till their 12th grade. The prinicipal and vice-prinicipal are very friendly and very easy to approach.
The teachers too are qualified and their method of teaching is unique. Looks like the teachers are given some training (Deens style of teaching) before they join the school. They have every process in place and they have a blog for parents too.
As a parent if you have any queries feel free call at 9845927994.

For younger kids, I would recommend Deens. However, since I do not know much about Vibgyor, can’t comment on same.

12My son goes to this school. He has been there since the day the school started. The strength of the school is in its faculty, very knowledgeable and innovative techniques of learning. The management is also very good. They have a very constructive approach to solving issues also, this is very helpful. The key part is that children are developing a good character!
